A night walk in pursuit of light, color, and movement.
Istanbul’s night has a completely different rhythm than its day. In this photo walk, we capture this rhythm, starting from Taksim Square and extending along Istiklal Avenue. The city’s lights, the colorful reflections of shop windows, street musicians, the movement of the crowd, and the changing atmosphere of the night offer countless visual possibilities for photography.
Throughout the walk, participants will be given brief exercises on low-light shooting techniques, exposure control, sharpness in action scenes, and creative use of light. Example shots will also be provided to illustrate topics such as how to achieve nighttime color and how to incorporate artificial light sources into the frame.
Short breaks will be taken at stops such as Galatasaray High School, Çiçek Pasajı, and Asmalımescit. At each stop, we’ll take practice shots in different lighting conditions and share brief evaluations.
This workshop offers a powerful practical experience for those interested in photographing the night using both street and documentary photography approaches.
